1. Who we are
This tool and this policy are provided by Zaptiva, LLC ("Zaptiva", "we", "us"), which is the data controller for the personal data described here:
- Zaptiva, LLC
- 2900 Bristol Street, B205, Costa Mesa, CA 92626, USA
- Contact: George Khairallah, CTO · privacy@zaptiva.com
For any privacy question or request, email privacy@zaptiva.com.
2. What pdf2data does
pdf2data converts a PDF, typically a Quickbase App Summary, into clean text and structured JSON describing the app's tables, fields, roles, and features. All of this processing happens locally in your web browser using a self-hosted copy of the PDF.js library. The file you open and everything extracted from it stay on your device.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
When you choose to download the structured JSON, we ask for and collect:
- First name and last name
- Company
- Work email address
- Your consent to be contacted (recorded as a yes/no)
Together with that submission, our systems also receive the page address, a timestamp, and, as part of normal internet delivery and security handled by our hosting provider, your IP address and basic request information.
3.2 Information we do NOT collect
- The PDF file you open. It is never uploaded.
- The text or structured schema extracted from it. That is generated and kept only in your browser.
- We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not set tracking or marketing cookies.
3.3 Storage in your browser (not cookies)
To avoid asking you repeatedly, your contact details and your recent results are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, not on our servers. If you clear your browser data, this is erased and you may be asked for your details again the next time you download structured JSON. You can also clear your stored details at any time using the "Forget my details" control on the tool's privacy section.
4. How we use your information
- To understand who is using pdf2data.
- So our sales team can contact you about pdf2data and related Zaptiva products and services.
- To produce aggregate, non-identifying usage insights.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse of the tool.
5. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for collecting your contact details and contacting you. You give this by ticking the consent box, and you may withdraw it at any time (see Section 8).
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating, securing, and improving the tool and in business-to-business outreach, balanced against your rights.
6. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers ("processors") strictly to run the tool:
- SMTP2GO delivers the notification email that carries your submitted contact details to our team.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the form endpoint and provides security and delivery.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
7. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents may also lodge a complaint with their data protection authority. California residents have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them; note that we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@zaptiva.com from the address you submitted, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Contact and opt-out
pdf2data does not run an automated bulk mailing list, so there is no subscribe/unsubscribe link. The details you submit go to our team, who may reach out to you directly. If you would like us to stop contacting you, or to delete the information you provided, simply email privacy@zaptiva.com and we will honor your request.
10. Providing your details is your choice
Entering your contact details and giving consent are required only to download the structured JSON output. You can use the clean-text extraction without providing any personal data. If you do not wish to share your information, please do not submit the form, and do not use the structured JSON export.
11. Data retention
We keep the contact details you submit for as long as needed to follow up and maintain our business relationship, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Information stored in your own browser remains until you clear it.
12. Children
pdf2data is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
